Seems that we're having a bit of a problem with the SIT attending. I've decided to come here, to my safe place, and blog about it instead of venting at Scott. Poor boy doesn't need to listen to my rantings.
The SIT attending on the floor is basically in charge of watching over the general well being on each patient in SICU. He is supposed to be here to help keep all the different specialties in line and working together. He is supposed to be the total body overseer.
This morning he came in with gusto, as he usual does with his condescending attitude barking orders, not listening and generally being an ass. He's decided that Scott's triple lumien (special IV) needs to be pulled and not replaced. He's decided that Scott's catheter needs to be pulled tomorrow (even though Scott must have 3 days of theraputic Flomax before pulling it). He's decided the the IV antibiotics that Scott's been on since last Monday for a raging infection in the leg that's been opened up 4 times complete with fever should be discontinued. Oh and when I said the antibiotics are for a specific infection does he open up the dressing and look at Scott's leg to make a determination, no he does not. He glances at it says oh its wraped and says discontinue the antibiotics.
Come on for real. Isn't the first rule of medicine do no harm? I know I'm not a doctor but nobody knows Scott better than me. NOBODY.
Unless this dr has a crystal ball that he's not sharing there is not a single person on this earth that knows when or if Scott is going to have another bleeding episode. He wasn't there when we took Scott to IR emergently to place the triple lumien line because Scott blew 6 regular IV's in one day from all the blood products. He wasn't there when Scott almost bled to death in IR. The triple lumien that was placed in the middle of the IR pre-procedure waiting room so we could rapid infuse all the blood that Scott needed to stay alive.
All his little brown nosing residents can't speak up and tell him he's wrong. They nod their heads and treat him like he's God. He's not God and I'm at the point where I think it would be better if they stopped listening to him and started thinking for themselves.
Don't get me wrong he's a very intelligent man. Highly educated, wicked smart. But his bedside manner and his listening capabilities need some serious improvement. Looks like I'm going to have to give him the Brandi class on how to not suck.

Dear Dr. Arogant,
Stop underestimating what Scott is capable of. Just about the time you stupidly take away all the precautions I've worked so hard to put in place Scott will decide to throw another aneurisym and we'll be back at zero because of you.
Dr. Arogant, you will not win this battle nor will you win the war. I will always do what I think is best for Scott. I will take the 4 million dollars that this hospital has been paid to date on Scott's behalf and I will use it to choke the life out of your smug face.
You better listen up. In this one instance I do know better than you. I am better than you and the sooner you realize it the better we will all be.
Sincerely,
The Psychotic, slightly unbalanced, protective wife in 511

All of this will be resolved with our vascular team. I will not under any circumstances let anything happen to Scott that I'm not ok with.
This Mama Bear is fierce and so not the person to fuck with. I'll tear you apart and not bat an eyelash.
Somehow, I don't feel better. I probably won't until I get things resolved with Dr. Ben, Dr. N or Dr. Jacobs. If I have to pull another show down with a dr. in this room I will. Nate is already popping popcorn. He was here the last time I had a showdown so he's pretty excited to see another.
Rant over!
In other news,
Scott is doing ok. His appetite is gone this morning which bothers me but his leg still looks good. We're going to be getting him up in the chair again around 10.
If I can keep myself out of jail and Scott can keep from bleeding all over the place we just might make this a good day. Oh and KT, Justin, Kara and my mom are all headed up for a visit.
