Nightmares

Would you like to hear why you all had to wait another day to see the Disney portion of the Disney trip?

I'll pretend you said yes.

While I was working on the other blog post and talking to my Grams (Hi Grams! I love you) a previously sleeping Kate called out for me.
Every parent reading this knows the feeling that comes over you. A little panic, a little annoyance, a little perplexing.
Turns out Junior Miss had a very, scary dream. My poor baby girl had a dream that Target was on fire and all of the "pretty clothes and toys and stuff" were getting ruined. You can imagine my reaction. I pulled her out of bed, cried with her and then spent the next ten minutes trying to console the both of us.
Such a horrible nightmare.

I'm so glad our trip to Disney didn't have anything that tragic happen.
We really truly had a magical time.

Everything is larger than life. The awe on Kate's face the first time she saw the castle is something I'll never forget. Completely and totally awestruck.

I just wish we hadn't been moving so quickly that first morning.
We were hurrying so we weren't late for our breakfast date with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore.

I wasn't too sure how Kate was going to react to the large costumed friends.

History has shown that my kid either loves or hates (think screaming hysterically) people dressed up as animals.

But she LOVED them. Reaching out for each one with no fear.

Every character we encountered during our entire trip was perfectly in character 100% of the time. Never a moment where they wavered. I've got to be honest, it creeped me out.

My mom however, obviously not creeped out.

Every place we went during the entire trip that knew it was Kate's birthday celebration went the extra mile. We could only endure so many cupcakes so we started hiding Kate's "Happy Birthday" button that they gave her.

You all saw the video clip already of Kate dancing during the parade. She was absolutely mesmerized by all the showmanship.

She sang, she danced, she waved. Soaking in every moment. It's infectious. All of us felt the same way.

Embracing your inner child. Turning off all the adult stresses.

And just acting "Goofy".

I can understand now how people become "Disney Freaks".

There's just something about that place.

It makes you believe in fairy tales.

Tomorrow... Princesses with my Princess.

I have to say that if I ever get to see that castle in person, I too will have a look of awe on my face; it is beautiful! I can't wait to see more pictures from your trip.
