Inagural Post
Well kids...here it is. My first official blog.
I'm putting this up to keep everyone updated on Scott. The boy just can't manage to keep himself out of trouble.
I'm sitting in the IR (interventional radiology) waiting room. My second favorite waiting room in the entire Rush hospital. The chairs suck but it gets good WIFI. They just took Scott in for his second Angio since arriving late late Tuesday night.
Got a good chance to talk to the IR Dr. before the procedure. It's not Dr. Farrell who is our IR of choice from 2008 but I like this new guy. Dr. Farrell is still on staff and has been consulted but is in Mexico for a family funeral. I guess we'll forgive him for not being here.
Dr. P (IR dr.) explained everything is great detail. It's far more complex and worse than I thought. He openly admitted that nobody on staff has seen anything like this before.
In a typical patient surgery would be the best option to make the necessary corrections but Dr. Chad Jacobs (who I will refer to as Dr. Chad - vascular surgeon) really feels like Scott wouldn't survive the surgery and if he did it would most likely result in Scott losing his leg.
So, they are going to try the less evasive route in hopes that we can once again get lucky.
They have an OR ready to go, just in case.
Other than the leg Scott is doing fine. He is stable, a little tachy from the stress, but other wise fine.
He had plenty of visitors yesterday and didn't miss me at all. Thanks Dan, Mark, Tom and S4. He was feeling quite manly this morning and looking like a grizzly bear. Don't worry ladies I remembered his razor so I'll correct that this afternoon.
I brought down some KT pictures for him which instantly brought a smile to his face.
It's nice to be back at the SICU. I hate that he's "sick" enough to have to be there but I trust them so completely which isn't easy for me. It's like one big family reunion. Lots of hugs, stories and smiles. I'm so grateful to all of them.
For those of you that are joining the adventure all ready in progress I will get around to a post that will give you all the history and the cast of characters. It may be today yet it will just depend on how the day rolls.
I will also get around to putting up some photos. You know I can't have a blank canvas for to long without filling it. I'm working of the new netbook that Santa brought and I don't have my 9000+ pictures to work with.
So for now, that's it. I'll post when I know something more. If you feel so inclined leave a message for Scott to look at later. The poor boy is already bored to tears.
later gators!
Hang in there guys. Know that there are people who love you and are praying for you.
Colton's had two snow days this week. We went sledding a little bit today but it was a tad chilly. The wind has been blowing like crazy, giving us nice fun snowdrifts. Could barely open up my dog pens today, I had to shove all my weight behind the gate to get them to open. I had ski goggles on and about three layers of clothes before my too short snowsuit, I looked like the abdominable snowman. Haha!
Love you guys lots!!
hope everything is going good and ya need to get outta bed im sure your honey do list is falling behind....
Well, we all started off at 7 this morning...which you know is a bad start for lil a...and it's not gotten easier since that time. Basically, he's a terrible two year old today...but still sends Uncle Scott exploding knuckles. The baby must sense our stress levels because he's not napping today either...ahhh miss the newborn stage???
On the other hand, it's Friday, so I can relax a bit knowing that I will have some help on Saturday and Sunday.
Hope you're staying warm because it's awful out there.
Sending good thoughts, hugs, kisses, exploding knuckles, and prayers.
love you guys!
Hey Scott, very sorry to hear the news. My family and I will pray for you and your family. Hope you recover soon so we can have that reunion that Tiffanie is trying to put together.
Hang in there.
Just wish it was better circumstances to reconnect.
