Lil This Lil That
Scott did well today sitting in the chair and visiting with the family. I did not get arrested (thanks for all the bail offers). So all in all not a bad day.
K, Justin, Kara and Mom did come for a visit. I'll share the few pictures I took soon. K got a stethoscope (disposable but it works). Deb, today's day nurse (who I may drug so I can cut her hair off and wear it as a wig. She seriously has the most beautiful hair I've ever seen)(oh and she's single, and I'm a dork and didn't take photos of her - so not my A game). Anywho, Deb gave the stethoscope to Kate and told her she could be like the doctors. About an hour later I tell Kate she needs to wipe the banana off her face she looks at me with the most serious face and declares "I a doctor mama. I no do it." And in that moment I realized just how screwed I am. sigh....
I won the battle on Scott's IV access. The vascular team agreed with me completely and Scott will be going down to IR tomorrow to have a new, longer lasting line placed. The IV antibiotics are staying as is the catheter. Scott's trach got changed (thanks Dr. N) and he's now back in his usual trach and out of the OR trach. Let's hope they don't have to change it back.
We will be up to the 8th floor sometime tomorrow (assuming nothing changes between now and then).
Read Scott more of the blog posts. He loves them and we both end up crying when I read them. We feel so overwhelmed by all the love and support. Even in my madness you all support us. Thank you!
Mike and Linda - hello! So glad to hear from you guys. Wish it was under better circumstances. Hoping you're both doing well.
Jay'me - you asked about drink ideas for Alli's party. I don't have drink ideas but I have a new mug to go with everyones favorite pitcher. It's equally as classy.
My cousin Scott (aka S2) fell on the ice this morning and sprained his back. Most of you have read his wife's (Saskija) comments here. S2 is in a lot of pain and Saskija is stuck caring for him and their 2 little munchkins. I'm throwing what little patience I have left at her. She may need it most of all.
S4 - I still totally owe you an email. I'm lame forgive me.
To all the people that I haven't returned calls to see the message above for S4. Sorry lameness is horrible excuse. I'm working on tackling the call list.

So glad today was a good day. The SIT can just kiss your arse because he obviously doesn't know a thing about listening. So happy you and the important doctors are on the same page. That makes it easier for you and Scott to rest and have faith that the right people are in charge.
So since you had a normal day maybe you want to hear about ours...
It was NORMAL too! Yay! The meds have obviously kicked in for Lil a because he asked to go on an outing to Target today, and being the brave mama I am, I ventured out to the Super T! It felt so good to have my little boy back to his wild crazy self...he didn't puke today from a coughing fit, and the only struggle we had was with eye drops, but as good mama bears know, I won that one! Lil r took a 3 hr nap so that meant I got rest too...and then to top it all off...both children were in bed and asleep by 8:20!!! And as you may have noticed by the time, Lil r went 7 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a new person, even at 3 in the morning. (oh, and I got to catch up on Grey's).
It is amazing that just when I thought I couldn't parent two kids (r had been waking every 3 hrs, and a was waking up also and is sick) these two pull a great trick out of the hat.
Kinda reminds me of you, Scott. You've got lots of tricks up your sleeve (maybe a pant leg is more appropriate here..hehe). We're so proud of the fight you're fighting and can't wait to make the visit to come and see you.
Brandi, I love that you're thinking about the drinking situation...next week r turns 3 months...half way done with being the milk maid and the PARTY ON!

Again stuppid typos ~ That's "You may NOT feel so lucky right now, But you are" I hate when people say crap like your lucky that terrible tornado ripped down your house and ONLY broke all of your limbs. But some how I now know why they say stuppid things like that. We're glad Brandi is the Keeper of all things Witty !!!
